If you haven’t yet heard listen up. Microsoft will no longer support Windows XP after Tuesday, April 8th. That not only means no technical support, it also means no updates, bug fixes and more important security fixes.
Read here in case you miss it Windows XP is dead!
You have been Warned!
Microsoft announced the end-of-support date months ago and their spokespeople have been making the rounds to warn consumes and businesses of the dangers of not upgrading.
Microsoft’s Tom Murphy stressed that “the world has changed an awful lot. If you look at the security threats that people face today, they are fundamentally different than when Windows XP was designed.” He added, “If you look at the more modern operating system we’ve done a lot of work engineering the OS from the ground up to address those security risks and make it safer for the users.”While I’m sure there are still plenty of people who don’t know about the end of XP support, you better believe that the hacker community is well aware that the deadline has come and gone. We can expect numerous “zero day” exploits against XP by those who know that any XP user is a sitting duck.
