Plane crash:: killing about 20 crew member on board.




An Associated Airline plane carrying the remains of late Gov Agagu to Akure, crashed around Mafoluku area of Oshodi in Lagos this morning, Oct 3rd 2013.

Eyewitnesses say the crash happened at the local wing of the Murtala Mohammed airport, close to the section where JET-A1, plane fuel is stored. The aircraft is said to have crashed as it took off.

At the scene, fire service officials were seen evacuating the occupants of the plane and are yet to determine the extent of casualty.



Indications however suggest that none of the 20 passengers on-board survived the incident, including family members of the late governor.

Yakubu Datti, the spokesman of the Nigeria aviation agencies, has asked for more time to get concrete details of the accident. Unconfirmed reports also state that ex head of state’s Olusegun Obasanjo’s son, top PDP dignitaries were those aboard plane.


A plane, belonging to Associated Airlines, Thursday morning, crashed at the Lagos Airport.

Vanguard gathered the crash occurred at the local wing of the airport, near the cargo shed.

Twenty people were said to be on board the Akure-bound flight. Meanwhile,the National Emergency Management Agency,NEMA, has confirmed two people were killed in the crash.
