Click the Start menu & goto Computer, or just press the start menu + E together.
Press the Apply button and then the OK button.
Now Windows is configured to show all hidden files.
click on Organize and then folder and search options as shown in image below:
then select the View tab and check the Show hidden files, folder and drives.

Now Windows is configured to show all hidden files.
For Windows Xp:
- Goto My Computer
- Click on Tools from the menu
- and select Folder option.
